Battery Recycling Technologies

The production of lithium-ion batteries is a growing market, and with increased production, more batteries will require recycling. Battery manufacturers face two distinct types of recycling: recycling of production scrap generated during the manufacturing process, and end-of-life (EOL) recycling of batteries that are no longer used.

It is estimated that in the EU alone, approximately 325,000 tons of available battery scrap will exist by 2030. This scrap contains valuable and critical raw materials like manganese, cobalt, lithium compounds, and graphite. These materials can be reintroduced into the production cycle, significantly increasing the efficiency of lithium-ion battery production.
